Yesterday I posted some images from Wichita Wildlife Refuge as an assignment I completed for class, but I have plenty more photographs from my day.
I have to admit, when I first visited Oklahoma in 2007, I was expected prairies and tumbleweeds and “Raw hide!” (whatever that means). You know, something out of an old Western. But my husband made sure to take me all over Oklahoma to show me how multifaceted the landscape truly is…and to point out how, unlike Florida, Oklahoma has many small mountains.
Wichita Wildlife Refuge is one of those places. The animals are calm but still slightly reclusive…the atmosphere is relaxed and removed from the hub-bub of the city. Every time I go, I feel very peaceful. I tried to capture that serenity in my pictures; hopefully it worked out! If you would like to purchase any of the following images as prints, please contact me for more information.
